The blade plant will be built in 2016 at a cost of roughly €50m ($54.3m), said CEO Anders Runevad.
Like other foreign wind OEMs Vestas is keen to grab a share of the Indian market as the country chases an installed capacity of 60GW by 2022. The company already has a nacelle plant in Chennai, and Runevad told Recharge the blade facility is a "natural step as we step up a bit in India".
