The project, near Oughterard in the country's west, will be Ireland’s largest wind farm when it reaches its full 169MW after the third quarter of 2017.

Galway Wind Park is 50/50 jointly owned by UK-based SSE and Coillte, which agreed project finance for stage two with a trio of lead banks – BBVA, Coöperatieve Rabobank and NORD/LB.
