EWEA says offshore wind investment doubled to €13.3bn ($14.5bn) in 2015 – a record year for financing that saw ten projects reach a final investment decision (FID). In total 3.03GW of new capacity reached FID during the year.
The report shows that 3,230 turbines are now installed and grid-connected, making a cumulative total offshore wind capacity in the European Union of more than 11GW.
