The GIB said the purchase from 50/50 owners Centrica and EIG marks the first time that a UK operating offshore wind asset has no utility ownership.
The UK government-backed GIB made the purchase via its UK Green Investment Bank Offshore Wind Fund (OWF). The OWF will own 61% of Lynn and Inner Dowsing, with BlackRock holding the rest.
The deal further swells the portfolio of assets of the OWF – the UK’s largest private renewable energy fund with £818m in its coffers.
