The project – being developed with SEV, the islands' power producer and distributor – will see a 2.3MW Li-ion ESS tied together with the 12MW Húsahagi development, which was switched on last year.

“The environmental and economic futures of the Faroe Islands demand that we maximise the usage of all our available renewable energy resources. But it is equally vital that we maintain grid stability and reliability as the penetration of intermittent generation increases,” says SEV project manger Terji Nielsen.
