Chicago-based Exelon, among the largest US wind-power generators, will sell the electricity to Wolverine Power through a 20-year PPA.

The Michigan 3 project, to be built in 2016 in Michigan’s windy thumb region, will become Exelon’s largest wind farm in the state.

The stars are aligning for significant growth in Michigan’s renewables market, with the Republican-controlled state recently saying it will submit to President Barack Obama’s Clean Power Plan, which will favour renewables and gas.
