The Hamnefjell site is located above the 70th parallel north in what the development partners claim is one of Europe’s best onshore wind locations.
Finnmark Kraft told Recharge that Vestas has been lined up to provide the wind farm with 15 V112-3.3 and 3.45MW turbines — making it the Danish OEM’s northernmost site of operations.
Construction of the wind farm — to be managed by Finnmark Kraft — is expected to last 18 months and be completed by the fourth quarter of 2017.
