A second machine, which will feature the longest blades ever built, is in the frame for installation this summer at a grid-connected offshore test site near Belgium’s 165MW Belwind 1 wind farm.
The Haliade, which takes its name from a species of sea nymph in ancient Greek mythology, is Alstom’s gambit for the next wave of deeper-water wind farm developments.
