The A$900m ($880m) 315MW Hornsdale wind farm proposed for the state’s north has been approved by planning authorities.

The project, owned by the Australian subsidiary of South African merchant bank Investec, have been submitted to the state government for final approval, a spokesman tells Recharge.

The 105-turbine project, north of Jamestown, will generate about one terawatt hour of electricity a year, enough to supply 180,000 homes.
