Maryland utility regulators will hold a public hearing on 18 January in Ocean City as part of its inquiry into the potential impacts of larger turbines that Orsted and US Wind plan to employ versus those they initially selected in 2017 when the state approved subsidy support for their projects.

The hearing was mainly prompted by officials in Ocean City, a popular resort and retirement destination, who assert that the larger turbines will negatively affect property values, shoreline views and the tourism economy.
