The US government’s second commercial offshore wind energy lease auction in the New York Bight region is increasingly unlikely to occur as initially planned in 2020, Walter Cruickshank, acting director of the Bureau of Ocean energy Management (BOEM), told Recharge.

“We’re not necessarily on that schedule anymore. We’re still working through the various issues that have come up. The New York Bight is obviously a very congested area,” he said.
