Leading Texas wind power developer Tri Global Energy has reached agreement to sell the 360MW Canyon Wind project west of Abilene to New York-based investment management firm Silverpeak.
Terms of the transaction, the first between the two parties, were not made public.
Canyon, which will occupy more than 38,000 acres (154sq km) of flat farm and ranch land, is the largest nameplate capacity wind project Tri global has under construction, according to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), a national trade group.
