One worker died and a second suffered “life threatening injuries” after an incident at a wind turbine tower factory in the US.

Emergency services were called to the Arcosa Wind Towers facility in Newton, Iowa, on 21 September.

The injured worker remains in hospital, said a statement from an Arcosa spokesperson sent to Recharge on Wednesday that gives no further details.

“Appropriate regulatory agencies have been notified of the incident according to company protocol. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation,” the statement added.

Dallas, Texas-based Arcosa was known as Trinity Industries until a spin-off of the latter’s infrastructure operations in 2018.
