The UK’s latest leasing round maintains the nation’s place as the big-hitter of global offshore wind, dwarfing newer markets such as the US, said the official leading the process at Britain’s seabed landlord.

“The scale of Round 4 will be at least 7GW. We believe between 7GW to 8.5GW is the right size when you take account of the appetitie of the market and the constraints in terms of environment and consenting,” Huub den Rooijen, director of energy, minerals and infrastructure at the Crown Estate told Recharge as it launched the round.
