Orsted boosted its global renewable energy expansion warchest after agreeing a DKr21.3bn ($3.2bn) deal to sell a clutch of downstream power operations at home in Denmark.

Orsted will sell Danish power distributor Radius and its residential customer operations, plus the City Light street lighting business, to Danish energy company SEAS-NVE.

The group had previously said it would look for a buyer for the Danish operations to allow it to concentrate on its huge renewable energy ambitions, which now stretch from the US to Taiwan as well as Europe, and encompass onshore and well as offshore wind where it is the global number-one.
