Brazilian state power company Copel will hold a tender to buy wind or solar power via 15-year power deals, as large vertical utilities in the country increasingly look to renewables to supply their distribution operations.
Cemig, the power utility controlled by the government of Minas Gerais – Brazil’s third most populous state – announced in July that it will also hold an auction to contract wind and solar power in 19-year PPAs.
