Offshore wind installation specialist Seajacks notched up another win in Taiwan with a deal for work at Orsted’s Greater Changhua project.

Seajacks will deploy its Scylla vessel to install 111 8MW Siemens Games turbines at the developer’s Greater Changhua 1 and 2a projects 35-50km off the island’s coast.

Work on Greater Changhua is due to start in 2021. Dutch contractor Heerema was earlier this month hired for foundation installation at the project.

The deal is the third success for Seajcks off Taiwan.

The UK-based contractor – owned by Japan’s Marubeni and INCJ – is already line to install turbines at the Formosa 2 project and is currently working on the 120MW Formosa 1, which will be Taiwan’s first commercial-scale offshore wind farm.
