After three days of effort, firefighters in the western US state of Washington have extinguished a 1 sq km (253 acre) blaze apparently sparked by a fire in the nacelle of a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries MWT-100.2.4 wind turbine at Avangrid Renewables’ Juniper Canyon wind farm.
Photos and a video on KATU2 television station website showed the turbine nacelle enveloped in smoke and later badly charred from the fire.
