GE Renewable Energy has won a 138MW order in Turkey for its 5MW platform Cypress wind turbines, its first for the new range in the country.

The Cypress machines, with a 158-metre rotor diameter, will be delivered to the Saros project under development by Borusan EnBW Enerji.

The blades for the machines will be made by GE-owned LM Wind Power at its factory in Izmir, Turkey, and the towers will also be locally-produced.
