French energy group Engie plans to add 300-400MW a year in new wind capacity in Brazil after reaching third place among turbine operators in the country, as it diversifies from hydro and coal into renewable technologies.

“Brazil is a playground for a global energy energy company because it offers opportunities for the development of all kinds of technologies,” Eduardo Sattamini, CEO of Engie Brasil Energia – the group’s Brazilian power generation arm – tells Recharge in an interview.
