A unit of German utility Innogy has begun construction of a 250MW wind project in Ohio, the first in a 2GW-plus US renewables pipeline acquired last year as it races to capture dwindling federal tax credits.

The $300m-plus investment in Scioto Ridge, which will employ 75 Siemens Gamesa turbines, is the first for Innogy Renewables US. The company was founded in 2016 and now has 50 employees.
