Struggling wind OEM Senvion claimed a boost to its fortunes with installation of its turbines at projects in Chile and Australia amid the uncertainties of insolvency.

The turbine-maker said its machines are now in place at the Sarco and Aurora projects in Chile, owned by Actis and Mainstream Renewable Power, and Pacific Hydro’s 80MW Crowlands in Australia.

Executing current projects is among the most pressing priorities facing Germany-based Senvion as it battles to keep its business on track, and give it a fighting chance of implementing its turnaround strategy in the breathing space offered by a €100m loan.

Senvion entered insolvency in self-administration in April, sending ripples along its own supply chain.

CEO Yves Rannou said: "We are making solid progress in our execution. The completion of installations of these three key projects in growth markets is a significant example of our efforts.

“We have shown that we were able to streamline the installations, one of our key challenges and main tasks during the last months.”
