The agriculture and environment agency of the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has granted developer Wpd a permit for its 824MW Gennaker offshore wind project in the Baltic Sea.
The permit covers installation of 103 of Siemens Gamesa’s SWT-8.0-154 turbines in a ‘power boost modus’, meaning each turbine could eventually generate up to 8.4MW and the wind farm up to 865.2MW.
