Connecticut’s House of Representatives has approved a bill backing development of 2GW of offshore wind in the state’s waters.
The 134-10 vote in favour – meaning the legislation now passes to the Connecticut Senate – was hailed by state governor Ned Lamont.
“We can increase the regional grid's fuel security and make significant progress toward meeting our climate goals, all while driving economic growth and creating good jobs,” said Lamont.
