Solar projects outstripped wind for the first time – 26GW against 23GW – in registrations for Brazil's A-4 power tender that will be held in late June, as viable renewables projects spread their reach further across the country.

A total of 1,671 solar, wind, biomass, biogas and small-hydro projects totalling 51GW were registered for the process, with wind and PV accounting for 49GW.
