Mainstream's 40%-owned 170MW Sarco wind farm has begun commercial operation in Chile, part of the Irish company's 1.3GW renewables capacity development plan for the Andean nation contracted in the 2016 regulated market tender
Sarco comprises 50, 3.4MW Senvion turbines with an initial 10 now spinning. When fully online, it will represent a $240m investment and 11% of Chile's total installed wind power capacity.
