Argentinian thermal power generator and gas trader Genneia has become the country’s largest wind player with about 300MW of installed capacity after the inauguration of its fifth wind farm, the 54MW Villalonga.

“Genneia is in the vanguard of renewables,” said the company’s institutional relations officer, Alfredo Bernardi.

The company now accounts for more than a third of the country’s total 800MW installed turbine capacity, and has another 438MW underway through extension of some of its operating wind farms and the construction of new ones.
