E.ON has thrown its lot in with Engie and EDPR to bid on development of the up to 600MW Dunkirk offshore wind zone in the English Channel off France.

The French wind industry previously had said the project would have a capacity of "around" 500MW, but Engie and E.ON now said it may have beetween 500-600MW.

The trio said the tie-up brought together three “European renewable energy champions and enriches the industrial excellence of its offer”, pointing to the almost 50GW of renewable energy plants operated worldwide by the companies, including 19 offshore wind projects with a capacity of 5.6GW.
