Siemens Gamesa has filed plans for a wind turbine plant in the French port of Le Havre.

The wind OEM wants to advance a mothballed project originally started by Areva, the former producer of machines for the French offshore market before it became part of the Adwen joint venture and ultimately ended up in the hands of Siemens Gamesa.

The 36-hectare site will be completed by the end of 2021, with the Spanish-German manufacturer using it to assemble 8MW turbines for the 1.5GW
