Shares in Indian wind group Suzlon soared on Friday on reports that global turbine number-one Vestas wants to buy a controlling stake in the company – a claim not immediately denied by the Danish giant.

Suzlon’s shares were trading up to 31% higher in late afternoon in Mumbai after CNBC reported Vestas is in talks with shareholders including founder and chairman Tulsi Tanti over a deal.
