Colombia’s first clean energy tender has attracted 1.5GW of projects – three times the 500MW it plans to contract – as companies jostle for pole position in South America’s last significant untapped renewables market.

The tender is scheduled for 26 February. According to the energy ministry, it drew interest from 15 companies which registered 22 projects in total, among them Enel, Renovatio, Grenergy, SolarPack, Elecnor, EDF Renewables and Mainstream Renewable Power.
