Vattenfall is eying the use of super-sized turbines of up to 20MW as the utility attempts to extend its permit for the 640MW Swedish element of the Baltic-wide Kriegers Flak project, amid an expected revival of offshore wind in Sweden.
The company said it expects such turbines to be available in the “near future” in an application to the Swedish government relating to the project.
