Rising sales and profits from wind power have helped 2018 earnings at Swedish utility Vattenfall that were also helped by positive electricity price and currency effects.

Net sales in the wind business area rose to SKr11.85bn ($1.28bn) last year from SKr9.44bn in 2017, pushed higher by the commissioning of 451MW in additional capacity.

Among the wind arrays added was the 97MW Aberdeen Bay wind farm off Scotland.
