Dutch transmission system operator TenneT and Swedish utility Vattenfall has signed agreements for the offshore grid connection of the 700MW Hollandse Kust South 1&2 arrays.

The agreements cover the construction of the transmission between what is slated to be the world’s first subsidy-free offshore wind farm and TenneT’s Hollandse Kust South Alpha offshore platform.

The two connections from the Hollandse Kust South offshore grid, which have a joint capacity of 1,400 MW, are slated to become operational a year apart, in 2021 and 2022.
