Baltic Power, a unit of Polish oil refiner and petrol retailer PKN Orlen, is about to start studies to determine the environmental impact and wind conditions of its 1.2GW offshore wind license area in the Baltic Sea.
The company has signed an agreement with a consortium including marine soil specialist Mewo and the Maritime Institute of Gdansk, with the aim of obtaining an environmental permit for the project and determining its power production potential.
