Offshore wind production in the German part of the North Sea was still growing last year, albeit at a faster pace than in 2017, amid grid bottlenecks on land, Dutch-German transmission system operator TenneT said.

The TSO transmitted 16.75 terawatt hours of electricity to the German grid in 2018, or 4.9% more than a year earlier. In 2017, power transmitted from the North Sea had still surged by 47% as more wind parks were added to the country’s offshore fleet.
