Orsted has locked down the 200MW offshore wind power-purchase agreement Deepwater Wind had provisionally secured earlier this year with the state of Connecticut, and reaffirmed its intention to invest $15m in the state’s port infrastructure.

Connecticut regulators this week approved Orsted’s PPA with utilities Eversource and United Illuminating, six months after Deepwater Wind won tentative offtake deals worth 400MW in Rhode Island and 200MW in Connecticut for its Revolution zone – arguably the best-sited offshore wind development zone in New England.
