Vattenfall has announced a final investment decision (FID) for its 605MW Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm in Danish waters, but a further 344MW is on hold pending the outcome of an appeals process.
Kriegers Flak was awarded to Vattenfall in a 2016 auction that set a then-record-low €49.90/MWh ($57/MWh) power price for offshore wind, convincing many for the first time that it was an economically viable source of renewable power.
