Shell Energy signs 100MW California wind PPA with Terra-Gen

The deal further signals interest by Big Oil in the low, fixed energy costs that wind provides in the rapidly growing US corporates renewables market

Houston-based Shell Energy signed a long-term agreement with Terra-Gen to procure up to 100MW of electric power from a wind project being re-powered in Palm Springs, California

Terms of the power purchase agreement (VPPAs) were not made public.

The Coachella Hills Wind project represents re=powering of the existing Coachella Flats and Painted Hills wind projects with an anticipated online date of 1 December 2020.
