Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has confirmed an order for the 487MW SeaMade project off the Belgian coast that combines the previous 235MW Mermaid and the 252MW Seastar projects after its developer took a final investment decision.
The turbine manufacturer had already been named preferred supplier for Mermaid and Seastar in March by the Otary partnership, which is leading consortia developing the projects that are slated to be installed and commissioned before the end of 2020.
