MHI Vestas has hired Jason Folsom from competitor Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) as its first employee in the US offshore wind market, one day after Vineyard Wind named the OEM as its preferred turbine supplier for an 800MW project in shallow Atlantic waters south of Massachusetts.
MHI Vestas did not say where Folsom, who led Siemens’ and then SGRE’s US offshore wind operations during the past 10 years, will be based.
