Danish utility Orsted through its recently acquired US subsidiary Lincoln Clean Energy has secured two long term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with oil firm ExxonMobil for power from 500MW in Texan wind and solar projects, Lincoln chief executive Declan Flanagan said.

He spoke during Orsted’s capital market day in Copenhagen.

A first 250MW, 12-year PPA will come from the 300MW Sage Draw wind project in the area of grid operator ERCOT in Northern Texas, which Lincoln expects to be operational in the first quarter of 2020.
