German utilities Innogy and E.ON both were successful with onshore wind projects in Poland’s first tender for large renewable energy projects.

Innogy, which aims to expand further in renewable in Poland, said it won with two projects with a combined capacity of 85.2MW, while E.ON won with a smaller, 7.2MW project.

The renewable generation assets of the two still rival utilities will be merged under the roof of Innogy parent RWE next year once competition authorities give their green light for a wide-ranging asset and share-swap deal announced earlier this year.
