The UK government has allocated a draft budget of £60m ($76m) for the third contract for difference (CfD) auction round which it plans to open by May, 2019, energy minister Claire Perry told parliament.

Perry said the government is now “in the final stages of concluding our offshore wind sector deal, which will include both £60m for the CfD auction next spring and a series of very substantial commitments from operators in the sector to increase their UK content."
