French cable-maker Nexans has reeled in the €150m job to supply the near-shore export line for the 1.4GW Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm being developed by Orsted off the UK.

The deal will encompass delivery of over 200km of 245kV high voltage alternating current cable from Nexans’ Halden, Norway, factory.

The three-core cross-linked polyethylene insulated submarine line will link the wind farm’s offshore reactive power substation to the onshore substation, at North Killingholme, in the north-east England.
