GE Renewable Energy signed a $144m turnkey agreement with Argentinian power group YPF Luz to build the 122MW Los Teros wind farm, a deal that also marks GE's first turbine order in the South American nation.

Construction is due to start this month using 32 GE 3.83MW machines in the Azul district of Buenos Aires province.

This is GE’s first turbine supply deal in Argentina, as it joins its competitors Vestas, Nordex Group, SGRE, Envision, Senvion, Goldwind and Enercon in the country’s efforts to reach 20% renewable power supply by 2025 for both the regulated and non-regulated market.
