Finnish utility Fortum and its Russian partner Rusnano JSC have completed construction of the 50MW second commercially scale wind farm in the world’s largest country in the Ulyanovsk region.

The 14 Vests 3.6MW turbines will start generating power in the first half of 2019, Russian wind power federation RAWI quotes Ulyanovsk region leader Sergey Morozov as saying.

The completion of the wind farm follows up on the commissioning in early 2018 of a 35MW first commercial wind park in Russia that Fortum had still built alone.
