Europe’s large-scale offshore wind hubs will not be replicated in the US, experts say, due to the lack of big quayside sites along the country's densely populated Eastern seaboard.

As Europe’s world-leading offshore wind market matured, it became increasingly concentrated around a handful of hubs like Denmark’s Esbjerg and the UK’s Hull. Such centres brought economies of scale to manufacturing, pre-assembly and logistics, helping drive down the sector’s costs.
