France's Prime Minister Edouard Philippe and ecological transition minister Francois de Rugy have officially launched the long-awaited call for tenders from pre-selected candidates for the around 500MW Dunkirk offshore wind area in the English Channel.

Pre-selected companies according to French wind industry federation France Energie Eolienne (FEE) now have four months to propose a bid. The exact maximum price for bids was not immediately known, but will probably be around €100 per megawatt hour, the FEE said.
