Orsted’s Deepwater Wind plans to expand its South Fork offshore wind project contracted to sell power onto New York’s Long Island from 90MW to 130MW by using larger turbines than originally envisaged.

The South Fork project would still use 15 turbines but its overall output would increase by more than 40%, according to a spokesperson for PSEG, the New Jersey-based utility that operates the grid on New York’s Long Island.
